I love basketball ♡
Jan. 6th, 2026 10:23 pmI'm listening to basketball on the radio again, and now I'm wondering which fandom should I write a basketball fic (AU or otherwise) for next 🤔
(I checked and I've tagged "basketball" in only 6 fics so far. That feels so low) (...4 of them were bnha 😂)

Plurality Stuff: "How Did You Know?"
Jan. 7th, 2026 12:00 amAn anwser to one of our friend's question about (our) plurality. Note that this is just our expierance with it, others may have diffrent expierances &/or exprianced them diffrent.

abyss-in-cahoots}
So we were intressted in plurality from a young age. We didn't know the words for it, let alone that it was that which we were intressted in. But ever since we knew of Jekyll & Hyde stories, we were intressted in "what if they were more morally complex?". Yes this often ended up looking like making Jekyll the bad guy while Hyde was good. But often as well were stories we made where they were both hurting, both needing of help and acceptance.
There were stories which didn't intend to portray plurality, even outright said it wasn't about it. But in a world where multiple people in the same body is usually treated like a horror story; stories like Sanders Sides & Inside Out, where such a thing was treated neutrally if not positively? They felt like a breath of fresh air we didn't understand we needed.
Though we only discovered that we were a system properly after we became adults. There was a server were we where, for the first time in our lives, knowlingly interacted with a system. It made us realize that plurality could be, real, happening to people who did jobs and school and had friends and things they enjoyed.
Yes we knew of D.I.D. before-hand, but it felt far away, only a thing that distressed, discribed in ways that could NEVER apply to us. But here they were, plural system after plural system (cause we've found out that like queers, plural systems draw eachother out), whom just, existed, who could feel more then suffering, who lived.
When some of our headmates interalized this, they demanded to be known.
Now, this distressted the then host Henry a lot. Mostly because he didn't want to fakeclaim. But also because he was afraid of being crazy, of being incapable of knowing what was happening in his head. But as we realized across our time accepting ourselves: to seek out help is to self-diagnose in the first place. That people will find reasoning after reasoning to be cruel regardless. We needed to be reconized as ourselves to some degree, cause it was hurting us to deny it.

2025 fanwork wrapup
Jan. 5th, 2026 11:03 pmHappy 2026!
So yeah! There were my favorite fanworks of the year. I hope I have an even more productive 2026.
I'm still trying to get used to the fact that it's 2026. I've been having a real difficult time these past few months, and I've been very dissociative so it's hard for me to process the passage of time. But man, it's a new year, which means it's time to look back on the previous year's fanworks.
In 2025, I wrote 127.8k words. It was the first year I actually tracked every word I wrote, but I'm pretty sure it's the most productive year I've ever had. I'm really proud of myself for that. I have 6 pages of fic written in 2025, so instead of listing them all, I'll just list my favorites for each month.

Snowflake Challenge 2026 #3: an ode to weird guys who howl
Jan. 5th, 2026 10:03 pmChallenge #3
Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all.
So this was a tough one to decide what to write. But I just finished Kamen Rider Amazon yesterday, and have been thinking about how he should be friends with Hoeru from No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger and Blazar from Ultraman Blazar because they actually share quite a few commonalities, despite being so different. (The biggest one is their tendency to howl 😂 a good example of Blazar howling is here from 0:39 to 0:48)
This will probably make no sense to anyone who hasn't seen these shows, and it ended up incredibly cheesy and heartfelt when I originally just wanted to write something funny. But that's fine because I wanted to write more meta this year (this counts, right?) and I had fun writing it anyway!
Therefore, I present:
An ode to weird guys who howl (and also feel out of place)

Snowflake Challenge #3

Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all.
Love is stored in the pencil marks on notebook pages gleefully handed over into a friend’s hands. It is stored in the emails and discussions and too-late chat messages rambling on and on about plots that never come to be. It’s stored in the art and vids we share, the characters we love, and the worlds we create.
And “What if” holds so much capacity for love. What if they didn’t die? What if something changed? What if they fell in love again and again? What if they were somewhere else, someone else? What if all that went wrong went right, and just this once: Everybody lives!
What if our ships never passed in the night? Where would we be without each other?
Where would we be without the comment chains between us. Our gleeful excitement of sliding into each other’s DMs to ramble deep into those good nights. The endless waves of boop notification as Tumblr descends into April Fools madness, and we are both determined to win this war. Where would we be without our gifts to each other and our “I thought of you”s?
Today, I scroll through an event tag in awe of the fanart being made and the comments being left, knowing I had a hand in creating this opportunity. I find love stored in the stick figures and first baby steps of an artist just as much as it is stored in their masterworks. In the “this is my first time trying _” and the “back on my bullshit” tags, in the shared celebrations of everyone’s achievements, and in the server-wide “Happy Birthday!”s.
Fandom is trembling hands reaching out across a seemingly endless chasm only to realize it’s really not that big at all. And when I think of love for it, I think of all this. How it is a network of connections waiting to be made and an endless fountain of creativity waiting to burst forth. And all you have to do is pick up a pen, a paint brush, a keyboard, whatever you want, and reach out—
Love is stored in the distressed emoji reactions from my friends when they realize I chose That One Prompt, even as they vibrate in excitement because I am finally, properly joining them in their fun.
2025 Year in fandom meme

Your main fandom of the year? I would probably say MCU, but X-Men would definitely be in second place. Fallout, High Potential and Wednesday took over my brain for most of the year as well. ;) Heated Rivalry took up most of my brain power within the last half of December (and still has it, if this post is anything to go by). ;P
Your favourite film watched this year? Thunderbolts* with Superman (2025) a close second. Fantastic Four: First Steps would probably be third along with Jurassic World: Rebirth.
Your favourite book read this year? The Long Game by Rachel Reid, but before I read that one I'd probably have said Zomromcom by Olivia Dade and The Accidental Housemate by Sal Thomas.
Your favourite TV show of the year? Heated Rivalry along with Doc, SkyMed, Wednesday, High Potential, and Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Ghosts (US) is also still really good. Maxton Hall was oddly addictive?
Your favourite online fandom community of the year? I think it would have to say probably
100ships mainly because other than
mcu100 &
xmen100 I was inspired a lot by it. I'll also say
seasons_of_fandom,
ships20in20,
lgbtrainbow - I made a lot of icons because of these communities. Seriously apparently, I made over 1k of icons last year???? I have them in a separate folder than my original icons so I could know what's new for my website. I knew I made a lot... but I did not expect that number (I haven't even officially "released" a lot of them other than on my website).
Your best new fandom discovery of the year? Heated Rivalry/Game Changers
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year? I can't really think of anything??? I mean last year was the series finale of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory which sucks. We have to wait x amount of years for new season of Wednesday and SkyMed.
Your biggest squee moment of the year? Heated Rivalry episodes 4-6 probably, especially the last one. Before that I would say Wednesday's last episode of Season 2 (Weyler fans know what I'm talking about).
The most missed of your old fandoms? I read a lot of MCU, X-Men and Harry Potter fic. I can't remember if I branched out to any other old fandoms of mine. Oh wait! There was a couple Ghost Whisperer fics I read...
The fandom you haven’t tried yet, but want to? I can't really think of any.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year? The rest of High Potential Season 2, Ghosts (US) Season 5, and any other returning shows that I like either coming back from break or a new season.
